Heartland Alliance Housing
Hollywood House is a midcentury high rise located in the vibrant Edgewater neighborhood. It offers our senior residents bright, modern apartments with expansive views. Ideally located for public transit, Hollywood House residents also enjoy several building amenities including a Solarium, Library, Fitness room, Laundry room, common area rooms and Social Service staff.
Our community is exclusively a senior population and all residents must be 62 years of age or older. We have studio and one bedroom units. Neighborhood amenities include Lake Michigan Beaches and parks, as well as medical and retail shops. Community and religious institutions are just steps away as well many restaurants for dining.
One of our main goals is Ending Poverty and to increase the quality of living for each and every one of our residents here at Hollywood House. We are so excited and pleased to announce that through the Hellenic Foundation Grant we are able to house 4-5 recipients per year from the Senior Greek Community.
The program will be able to subsidize the rent requirement on a case by case basis. Most applicants are unable to meet the debt to income ratio for a number of our units. The grant will be able to cover two main areas:
Income gap between the tenant income and the minimum debt to income ratio.
Subsidy amounts will be provided based on the gap covered with a maximum yearly participant assistance amount of $5,000 or more.
Our Program Directors, Malissa Rainey – North West Area Manager and Romerio Lucas, Property Manager for Hollywood House can’t express our gratitude for this opportunity to work with the Hellenic Foundation on this awesome venture and we look forward to our continued friendship and partnership for many, many years to come.
