On November 5, 2025, at the Metropolis of Chicago Clergy-Laity Assembly in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael of Chicago bestowed the Gold Cross of the Metropolis of Chicago upon Hellenic Foundation Board Member Ernest C. Karras and his wife, Marion Karras.

This most honorable recognition is conferred upon laypersons who have demonstrated exemplary servant leadership, volunteering their God-given talents for the benefit of the Church and offering outstanding contributions to the life and ministry of the Metropolis.
