Hellenic Foundation Grant Helps Launch OCF Chicago

The Hellenic Foundation is pleased to support OCF Chicago, a new ministry for college students in the Chicago area.

OCF Chicago is a youth ministry organization focused on the sustainment and development of Orthodox college students’ involvement in Orthodoxy along with socialization among peers.

The goal of OCF Chicago is to offer a centralized college ministry for the Chicago area OCF chapters.

Under the leadership and guidance of Fr. Athanasios Minetos, the OCF Chicago will host monthly gatherings and retreats for students from the Chicago OCF chapters including Loyola; DePaul University; University of Chicago; Northwestern University; University of Illinois-Chicago; Elmhurst College; North Park University and others.

The Board of Directors of the Hellenic Foundation has approved a Grant Award for funding to cover the cost related to the OCF Chicago gatherings, and transportation to and from events, in an effort to continue to promote and grow the Orthodox faith.

OCF Chicago kicks off their ministry with a Back to School BBQ on Saturday, September 17 from 12 pm – 3 pm at the historic Holy Trinity Cathedral at 1121 N. Leavitt Street in Chicago. Food and Drinks will be served and transportation fees will be covered. For more information contact chicagostudent@ocf.net
